Cake Smash Portrait Details

Congratulations to you and your family on this upcoming milestone. I am a mother of two, an eight and four year old, time goes so quickly but I still remember my children's first birthdays being one of the most special times, that first year flew by and it was just as much of a celebration for my child as much as it was for me! I fondly still look back at their birthday portraits, and I can’t believe how quickly time has passed, you won’t regret capturing this special time!!

Safety is my number one priority, I am up to date on all my vaccinations, I received my flu shot on 9/15/23 and I am fully vaccinated against Covid. All of my cake smash sessions are held outdoors on a set or in nature.

Cake Smash Sessions are one of my most popular sessions and they are fully customizable. The best part is everything; the personalized set and smash cake, are designed and set up before you arrive - just bring baby! I have a client closet you are welcome to use and I provide the smash cake from a local bakery in La Crescenta. I recommend photographing their cake smash 2-4 weeks in advance if you would like to use the portraits for the invitation, displaying at the party, etc. If you don’t need the images for those purposes we can schedule your sessions 1-2 weeks before their birthday.

Themed cake smash sessions on a set (on a backdrop) are photographed in the morning (9, 10, 11am) at a park in La Crescenta under a covered patio area on your customized set. I also photograph cake smash sessions in nature, those are photographed in the late afternoon/early evening for the best lighting, timing is determined by the sunset. Booking early gives you the opportunity to have more options with scheduling your session date.

During the session we begin photographing on the set without the cake, then we will change outfits (if you want to), put the cake down and encourage baby to smash! If you are interested in booking a cake smash session, the next step would be to discuss dates. A non-refundable retainer of $60 is required to reserve your session and that goes towards your session fee, unless there is a late cancellation.
